Meet Laura Hois

Laura Hois is running for DuPage County Board District 2

1. Why did you decide to run for office?

In the summer of 2023, I was working toward taking another run against Anne Stava-Murray (D) for State Representative District 81. When I learned that Aaron Porter planned to run against Stava-Murray, I threw my support behind him and decided to run for the open seat in DuPage County Board District 2.

2. What are you hoping to accomplish if you win?

If I win and the other Republican County Board candidates win, we will balance the board or even regain the majority. I want to be part of that shift in power to restore much-needed support for law enforcement and fiscally responsible decisions—to put DuPage citizens first. I hope to persuade fellow Republican board members to vote against leftist political agendas.

3. What qualifications set you apart from other candidates?

I am a lifelong DuPage County resident, wife, Mom (“Mama Bear”), pro-freedom public servant, and DGTRO committeeman since 2010. My 30+ years’ experience as a corporate real estate/franchise attorney, law firm owner, and former Town Clerk at Downers Grove Township (2013-2017) qualifies me to represent the people of District 2 in a well-informed, effective, and caring manner. My goals will be to restore trust and enhance the quality of life in DuPage.

4. What specific actions will you take if you win?

After throwing a big party for my fellow committeemen, donors, and volunteers, I will establish working relationships with the County Board Chair and existing and newly elected board members. I’d like to serve on the Judicial and Public Safety, Economic Development, Public Works, and Intergovernmental Committees.

5. Can you give an example of how you have supported a community project in the past?

Since 2021, I have attended District 99 School Board, Village Council, and Public Library Board meetings and spoken out against lockdowns, masks, vaccine mandates, C.R.T., indoctrination, drag queens, WOKE D.E.I. practices, anti-white discrimination, LGBTQ influencing and radical leftist political activism. I am the Co-Chair of the Downers Grove Awake IL chapter. I will protect parents’ right to raise their children as they see fit.

6. What else would you like voters to know about yourself?

I enjoy meeting and talking with people in person to learn more about what is important to them.

7. In your opinion, what is a hidden gem of a restaurant or business in Downers Grove Township?

Bryan’s American Grille, 2009 Ogden Ave, Downers Grove.

8. Please share a website or social media page, where people can find out more, donate or volunteer for your campaign.
